It has been announced that the Blu-ray Disc (BD) box "Heavy Metal L-Gaim Dreamers Blu-ray BOX", which commemorates the 40th anniversary of the broadcast of the popular anime "Heavy Metal L-Gaim" mainly in the 1980s, will be released on February 26, 2025. This is the first time that the work will be released on BD. As a bonus, it will come with a CD containing a rare collection of all the BGM, which is difficult to obtain, and character and mechanic designer Mamoru Nagano will draw a box illustration. The price is 74,800 yen.
The first official book "Heavy Metal L-Gaim 40th Official Book Dreamers Again" will also be released on February 26, 2025. It is a two-book set consisting of "Mk-I", which looks back on the history of about 40 years, and "Mk-II", which covers all the setting materials from the time of broadcast, and includes valuable unpublished initial settings by Nagano and new interviews with the staff. The illustrations on the three-sided box are drawn by character illustrator Toshiyuki Kubooka and mecha illustrator Morifumi Naka. The price is 11,000 yen.
"Heavy Metal L-Gaim" was the successor to "Mobile Suit Gundam Dunbine" and was directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino and aired from 1984 to 1985.
