It has been announced that the SCREENX and ULTRA 4DX versions of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash" (directed by Shuko Murase), the second chapter of the theatrical anime film series "Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash ," will be screened from April 3rd. The film has already been shown in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, MX4D, and 4DX, but this will be the first time a "Gundam" film is screened in SCREENX and ULTRA 4DX. Special postcards will be distributed as a gift to attendees of the SCREENX and ULTRA 4DX screenings.
It was also announced that a stage greeting will be held on April 4th at the SCREENX Theater in TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro (Toshima Ward, Tokyo), and that Kensho Ono, who plays Hathaway Noah, and Reina Ueda, who plays Gigi Andalusia, will be in attendance.
"Hathaway's Flash" is based on a novel published between 1989 and 1990 by director Yoshiyuki Tomino, known as the "creator" of the "Gundam" series. Set in Universal Century 0105, the story follows Hathaway, the son of Bright Noa, who experienced a bitter separation during the Second Neo Zeon War, as he pilots the new mobile suit XI Gundam and rebels against the Earth Federation government.
The anime was announced to consist of three chapters, with the first chapter released in June 2021. The second chapter has been a hit, grossing over 2.5 billion yen and attracting over 1.48 million viewers in just 48 days since its release on January 30th.
