To commemorate the release of the second volume of " Subaru and Subaru, " a manga by Shuichi Shigeno , known for " Initial D " and " Initial D MF Ghost ," an event called "#InitialDisNeverEnding" will be held on March 28th and 29th at Inaribashi Square in front of Shibuya Stream (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo). The event will feature a display of the BRZ (Subaru BRZ), the beloved car of the protagonist of " Subaru and Subaru," alongside the Aichiroku (Toyota AE86), the car of the protagonist of "Initial D,"Takumi Fujiwara, to represent the "inheritance of spirits." A limited edition of 2000 copies of the "phantom reprinted first volume" of "Initial D" will also be distributed.
"Subaru and Subaru" is a manga that follows "Initial D" and its "successor" "MF Ghost." The story follows Kanata Rivington, a student of Takumi Fujiwara Kanata Rivington, who dominated the MFG street races the following year, as Sato Subaru from Gunma and Kudo Comet from Kanagawa burn with fighting spirit to challenge the races. The worldviews of "Initial D" and "MF Ghost" overlap, depicting the "true legend of the fastest street racer" by the two "Subarus."
The series began serialization in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha) in July 2025.
