Kim Hyung Yul, leader of the five-member boy band Hi-Fi Un!corn, who made his acting debut this year, has been announced to appear in the drama series The Travel Nurse (TV Asahi, Thursdays at 9pm), which begins on October 17th. He will play Park Yi Joon, a second-year nurse.

Yi Joon is a diligent and polite nurse who works at Nishitokyo General Hospital, where Ayumu (Masaki Okada) and Shizuka (Kiichi Nakai) are newly employed. He loves Japan and came from Korea. Like Shizuka, he reveres Florence Nightingale as his spiritual mentor, making him a talented person who could be called the "second Shizuka."

Hyung Yul commented on his appearance in the series, "Honestly, when I first heard about it, I was very surprised. I was a little worried about whether I could do it, but I felt more like I wanted to take on the challenge!"

"Because I play the role of a nurse, I first watched a lot of medical dramas. I also looked up on the internet what kind of work nurses do and looked for videos on how to care for patients," she said. "Since I was chosen, I want to work with the cast and staff to create a good work that will meet their expectations, so please look forward to it!" she said enthusiastically.

The drama is a sequel to "The Travel Nurse," which aired in October 2022. The script is by Nakazono Miho, who is known for the popular series "Doctor X" on the same station. Ayumi, who has a nursing qualification "nurse practitioner" that allows her to perform certain medical procedures, and Shizuka, a skilled nurse, team up to reform the medical field with a "patient first" approach.

The first episode, which will air on October 17, will be an extended special and will air from 9:00 to 10:00 pm.
