It has been revealed that the box office revenue of the latest film in the popular animation series "Crayon Shin-chan" - "Crayon Shin-chan: Our Dinosaur Diary" (directed by Shinobu Sasaki), the 31st film in the series, has topped 2.5 billion yen in 46 days since its release on August 9th. This surpasses the 2.47 billion yen recorded by "Crayon Shin-chan: The Movie: Supernatural Battle - Tobe Tobe Temaki Sushi" released last year, breaking the all-time record for the highest box office revenue in the series. The film has been a huge hit, drawing an audience of approximately 2.05 million people. Kobayashi Yumiko, the voice actress for Nohara Shinnosuke, commented, "Congratulations! We've broken the all-time record for box office revenue! This is all thanks to everyone who joined Shinnosuke and his friends on this summer's dinosaur-fever adventure! Thank you so much! We'll continue to bring you Crayon Shin-chan together with Shinnosuke so that everyone can enjoy it, so please continue to support Crayon Shin-chan for many years to come! And what's more, the dinosaurs are still wreaking havoc! For those who haven't seen it yet, and for those who have already seen it, we hope you'll come to the theater and join Shinnosuke and his friends on this great adventure!"

To commemorate the break of the all-time record for box office revenue, a new visual drawn by character designer Kobe Yuta was also released. Along with a message of gratitude saying, "Thank you for coming to see us!", it shows Shinnosuke, Shiro, and Nana playing on the head of a Spinosaurus as a slide.

The film depicts the friendship between the Nohara family's pet dog Shiro and a "little dinosaur," as well as the growth of Shinnosuke and the rest of the Kasukabe Defense Force over a summer. A dinosaur that was thought to be extinct returns to Kasukabe, Tokyo, where the Nohara family lives, and wreaks havoc.

The first film in the "Crayon Shin-chan" series, "Crayon Shin-chan: Action Kamen vs. High-Grade Demon King," was released in 1993, and 31 films have been released to date. The release of the first full-length 3DCG animation in the series' history, "New Dimension! Crayon Shin-chan THE MOVIE: Psychic Battle: Tobetobe Temaki Sushi," in 2023, also attracted much attention.
