A photo of Minami Sara in costume as Fujiwara no Kenko in the NHK Taiga drama "Hikaru Kimi e" (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring Yoshitaka Yuriko, has been released. This will be Minami's second time appearing in a Taiga drama, following "The 13 Lords of the Kamakura" which aired in 2022.
Kenko, played by Minami, is the daughter of Mahiro (Murasaki Shikibu, Yoshitaka Yuriko). She grows up doted on by her grandfather Tametoki (Kishiyama Goro). Although there is a period when Mahiro rebels, she inherits his literary talent and eventually becomes a servant at the Imperial Court. Her real father is Fujiwara no Michinaga (Emoto Tasuku).
Minami commented, "I will be playing Murasaki Shikibu's daughter, Kenko. Kenko is bright and passionate, and it is said that she later rose to the unusually high rank of Junior Third Rank for a woman. Feeling that she had been neglected, she harbors complex feelings of hostility towards her mother, and there is tension between mother and daughter. I also look forward to each script I receive. I hope to be able to carefully portray Kenko's cuteness and intelligence."
