McDonald's new TV commercial for "Tsukimi Family," starring actors Aoi Miyazaki and Yuya Yagira, was released on August 25th. The commercial's theme song has been completely changed for the first time in about seven years, and it uses the classic "Koyoi no Tsuki no Youni" by Elephant Kashimashi. It's a newly recorded self-cover of the song by Koji Miyamoto.
The commercial follows Miyazaki and Yanagira as they spend their days busy with work and raising children, but receive encouragement from Tsukimi Family products and feel lifted in spirits, with the song "Like Tonight's Moon" accompanying them. There are three versions: Tsukimi Burger "Today's Cheers" version, Tsukimi Sweets "Today's Cheers" version, and Triple Beef Tsukimi "Today's Cheers" version. The commercial will begin airing on September 2nd.
McDonald's will be selling a total of eight products as the "Tsukimi Family" for a limited time starting September 3rd at McDonald's stores nationwide, including the autumn classics "Tsukimi Burger" and "Cheese Tsukimi," as well as the "Tsukimi Muffin," which is only available at Breakfast McDonald's, this year's new burger "Tasty Sukiyaki Tsukimi," the first-ever "Triple Beef Tasty Sukiyaki Tsukimi" which is only available at Breakfast McDonald's, new sweets "Anko Butter and Mochi Tsukimi Pie," "Tsukimi McShake Yamanashi Shine Muscat Flavor," and five new products, "Setouchi Lemon Pepper Sauce," a new sauce for Chicken McNuggets.
