Actress Yuka Nihei appeared on the variety show "Shikujiri Sensei: Don't Be Like Me!!" which aired on TV Asahi late at night on June 26th, and revealed her views on marriage.
On this day, Miyuki Uekusa, known as a "charismatic marriage advisor," appeared and gave a thorough explanation of the "common characteristics of people who fail at marriage hunting in the Reiwa era." Nihei, who has declared that she is actively looking for a spouse, commented, "Even when I go to weddings, there are a lot of 'matchmaking marriages' and 'app marriages'." When asked if she had a matching app installed, she replied, "Well, I am a celebrity, so... I haven't installed one. That's why I'm trying my best to do something about it using traditional methods like group blind dates."
When asked if she had a desired annual income for her partner, she hesitated, saying, "Um... is it okay to be realistic?", but then confessed, "Well... around 15 million yen," to which Masayasu Wakabayashi of the comedy duo "Audrey" retorted, "That's a bit too blunt (laughs)!"
When Uekusa explained that a common trait of people who fail at matchmaking is "editing their photos to make them look better," Nihei confessed that she often edits her photos. "What I do is... first, I change my skin texture. I make my eyes look bigger when I take the picture, and I slim down my jawline. I also make my legs look longer. My manager often scolds me for it..." she said, prompting Wakabayashi to retort once again, "You're going overboard!"
The program will be streamed on ABEMA after its broadcast. The "second half" will be streamed from 9 PM on July 3rd, in which Uekusa will demonstrate "flirting gestures for matchmaking."
