The young man who was brought in with the prostitute died, and the man's father became enraged. Naomi lied to the father, saying, "The police might be coming soon," and calmed the situation down. Just then, Yoshi (Mayumi Myojo), the nurse, came in and said, "A prostitute who attempts a double suicide with a man will be reprimanded when she returns to the shop, and will also be burdened with the debts she incurred while she was away. Sometimes it's worse to help her." Yoshi's words carried weight, coming from a former madam who had once been a tough boss to the prostitutes.
That night, as Naomi continued to nurse her, the prostitute woke up and murmured, "I'm still alive... I thought this would be the end of Yuunagi's life..." Naomi reacted to the name "Yuunagi." According to the con artist Kanta (played by Fujiwara Kisetsu), Yuunagi was a popular prostitute who worked at a shop called Kin'eiro in Shinagawa until about 25 years ago, and she was indeed Naomi's mother. Remembering those words, Naomi asked, "How about a little water, Yuunagi?"
