The latest volume (vol. 8) of " Kaijin Fugeki ," the newest work by manga artist Oh! Ito Ogure, known for "Air Gear" and "Tenjho Tenge," was released on May 15th. Manga artist Rumiko Takahashi contributed a comment to the obi (paper band) of the latest volume, which has become a hot topic. Takahashi commented, "The incredible drawing skills that bring terrifyingly beautiful images to life, the thrilling story, and the coming-of-age themes. It's incredibly interesting."
In response to Takahashi's words, Ohgure said, "I never imagined I would receive such kind words from Professor Takahashi...! As someone who was thrilled by Lum-chan when I was in elementary school and eagerly awaited the publication of 'Mermaid Forest,' I am so happy I'm speechless, and at the same time, I am extremely humbled. * 'Mermaid Forest' was an irregularly serialized short story. I have received many wonderful comments from many authors in the past, and each time I have been deeply moved and overwhelmed by the honor. "Kaijin Fugeki" is a fantasy epic by Ohgure. Set in a world where "Night," once called a natural disaster, strikes, the story follows boys and girls who dance relentlessly in order to borrow the power of the gods, to appease Night's wrath, and to save this world. It has been serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) since May 2024.
