The 20th episode of the NHK Taiga drama "BROTHERS IN ARMS (Toyotomi Brothers!)", starring actor Taiga Nakano (NHK General, Sundays at 8 PM, etc.), titled "The Real Hiragumo," aired on May 24th. In that episode, a comedian made a cameo appearance as a "prison guard," which became a topic of conversation among viewers.
"BROTHERS IN ARMS (Toyotomi Brothers!)" is the 65th Taiga drama. With Toyotomi Hidenaga (Koichiro) as the protagonist, it depicts the miraculous feat of unifying Japan together with his older brother Hideyoshi (Tokichiro) through their strong bond, a success story of dreams and hopes.
In episode 20, Nobunaga (Shun Oguri) is furious with Hideyoshi (Sosuke Ikematsu) for abandoning the campaign against the Uesugi clan and returning home without permission. He orders Hideyoshi to be placed under house arrest and sentenced to death.
While the entire Hashiba family is working tirelessly to plead for clemency, news arrives that Matsunaga Hisahide (Naoto Takenaka) has betrayed them again. Having narrowly escaped death, Hideyoshi and Koichiro (Nakano) go to negotiate with Hisahide and convey Nobunaga's intention that if he hands over the unique tea utensil, Hiragumo, the rebellion will be overlooked.
However, despite the exceptionally generous terms, Hisahide inexplicably refused to accept them... and that's how the story unfolded.
In that episode, there was a scene where Hideyoshi, having incurred Nobunaga's wrath, was thrown into prison, and Yosuke Oomizu of the comedy duo "Rubber Girl" made an appearance as the prison guard. When Hideyoshi asked to be allowed to go to the toilet, Oomizu calmly refused, saying, "That is not permitted. His lord has instructed me never to be deceived," and continued to repeat "That is not permitted." In the end, Hideyoshi soiled himself right there, and the exchange continued with him muttering, "So it wasn't a lie after all..."
On social media, viewers noticed Oomizu's appearance and reacted with comments such as, "Wait...is that the guy from Rubber Girl?", "Oh, it's the guy from Rubber Girl!", "A comedian just casually made an appearance", and "It's Rubber Girl's Oomizu." Other comments included, "Is that the jailer Rubber Girl?", "Rubber Girl out of nowhere lol", "Rubber Girl is hilarious", and "It has that Rubber Girl comedy feel."
