Actress Eiko Koike will appear on NHK's program "Dosta" (NHK General, Saturdays at 1:50 PM) on May 23rd. The program will feature the network's Saturday drama "Mushoran Mitsuboshi," and will interview Koike, who plays the lead role, about behind-the-scenes stories from the filming.
"Mushoran Mitsuboshi" is based on a masterpiece non-fiction book by Keiko Kuroyanagi, a currently working prison nutritionist, which depicts the little-known state of food inside prisons. The protagonist, a renowned Italian chef, unexpectedly ends up working as a prison nutritionist, and the drama portrays his struggles to overcome troubles and commotions with prison guards and inmates behind bars. It is a "prison social comedy drama." It will air on NHK General every Saturday at 10 p.m. starting May 23rd.
On this episode of "Doyo Suta,"Reo Tamaoki and Kunimura Jun from "Mushoran Mitsuboshi" will appear for an interview. Rare old footage of Koike from 20 years ago will also be shown. Additionally, actress Rinko Kikuchi , who is close to Koike and co-starred with her in the 2022 Taiga drama " The 13 Lords of the Shogun ," will talk about Koike's true personality.
