Actress Haruka Ayase attended the "New MAZDA CX-5 Announcement Event" held in Tokyo on May 21st. Ayase, who hails from Hiroshima Prefecture, the birthplace of Mazda, was appointed as the new brand ambassador and expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "Mazda was born in Hiroshima, just like me. I am very happy to be able to work with a company from Hiroshima Prefecture like this. As an ambassador, I would like to do my best to let everyone know more about the appeal of Mazda."
Regarding the reason for appointing Ayase as an ambassador, Mazda's president, Katsuhiro Mogami, explained, "She has the power to make people feel positive, she is always natural and warm, and she has a strong core. Mazda's brand purpose is to 'expand the circle of people who live each day positively,' and we feel that Ayase's personal charm aligns very well with the values we aim for. We believe she is the perfect person to be our brand ambassador." In response, Ayase smiled and said, "I would be happy if I could work with Mazda to create a desire in everyone to drive."
Ayase sat in the driver's seat and back seat of the new CX-5 to check the ride comfort. "It looks great. The center display is large and has a strong presence. There's enough room to cross your legs in the back seat, and the panoramic sunroof is very spacious," she said, giving it her seal of approval.
In keeping with the CX-5's concept of "five stars that fulfill your desires," when asked what she wanted to do this year, she replied, "I went camping during the filming of a Mazda commercial, and it made me want to go camping myself." When asked whether she preferred the beach or the mountains, she answered, "I like both!"
