It has been revealed that artist GACKT will star in the Fuji TV Monday Getsuku drama "Black Trick: The Lawyer Who Manipulates Judgment," which will air in July. This will be GACKT's first time starring in a drama, and he will play a "genius of fabrication" who is both a brilliant lawyer and a first-class architect.
The protagonist, Naoto Uramawashi, played by GACKT, fights back against a powerful force that fabricates anything and everything to escape punishment, using his own clever fabrications. This is a new dark hero story in which justice is won through evil, as he reclaims the truth that has been distorted by lies with lies.
This legal entertainment series is a completely original story produced by Masashi Makino, who has worked on series such as "Galileo" and "HERO," and directed by Toshiyuki Mihashi, who has brought popular works such as "Asagao - Forensic Doctor" and "Confidence Man JP." The script is written by Hisao Yoshitaka, Sayaka Ichito, and others.
GACKT plays Ura Mawashi, a brilliant and highly skilled lawyer with an unusual background, also working as a first-class architect. Ura Mawashi will stop at nothing to win, using his architectural firm team as his own hands and feet to uncover new evidence and corner his enemies with meticulously planned strategies. And because he also possesses architectural knowledge, he exposes inconsistencies in his enemies' testimonies and even "designs" the evidence that has been erased. The more perfect the enemy's "false blueprint" is, the more he wants to dismantle it with his own "lies"—he is a "genius of fabrication"...that's the role he plays.

--What were your impressions after reading the script?
My strongest impression was that it felt very much like a typical Getsuku drama. I thought the script for the first episode had a great sense of "development."
--Please tell us your impression of the role you will be playing.
Ura Mawashi is basically someone who isn't very interested in attributes, and I get the impression that he's an elusive character whose thoughts are hard to understand.
--Could you tell us what kind of film you hope to create with your co-stars and staff?
There's quite a lot of dialogue, so I think it will be really interesting if the back-and-forth of the lines develops at a good pace. I want to create a show that is exciting and enjoyable for the viewers, while keeping the tempo in mind.
--Finally, please give a message to the viewers and fans who are looking forward to the broadcast.
This drama has a story unlike anything you've ever seen before, so I think it will be a really interesting show. You don't often see lawyers like this (laughs). I think we'll be able to deliver a truly unique drama. I'll do my best, so I hope you'll look forward to it.
