On Friday, May 15th, Friday Road Show (Nippon Television Network, Fridays at 9 PM) will air the live-action Disney classic "Dumbo" (2019, USA) uncut and with an extended 15-minute runtime, marking its first terrestrial television broadcast.
The Medici Brothers Circus, which tours the country, has shrunk in size due to the war and the ravages of influenza, which have claimed many of its members. Holt, the star of the horse show, returns, but he too has been injured in the war and lost his left arm. Millie and Joe, siblings who lost their mother to influenza, are happy to see their father safe, but they cannot hide their hesitation at his appearance.
However, the Medici Brothers Circus had a secret plan to revive their fortunes: they acquired Jumbo, a pregnant Asian elephant, and hoped to make a fortune from the baby elephant. And finally, the baby elephant was born. However, the baby elephant's ears were too big, and it did not look like the cute baby elephant that everyone imagined.
Millie and Joe name the baby elephant "Dumbo" and stay by his side, as he is treated coldly because he is unfamiliar to others. By chance, the two discover that the baby elephant reacts to feathers and can fly.
Next week, on Friday, May 22nd, Friday Road Show will broadcast "Minions: The Rise of Gru" (2022, USA), featuring Illumination's popular characters, in its entirety.
