In the Taisho era, earthquakes frequently struck Gogyo Town. Mao and Otsuya, who had gone to check on the collapsed hillside behind the town, heard from a yokai that a strange Western-style mansion had been built near where the keystone used to quell earthquakes had been enshrined. When the two visited the place, they found a church standing there that shouldn't have been there.
The original manga has been serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) since May 2019. Set in the Taisho era, it's a dark fantasy x time-slip mystery about Mao, an onmyoji (exorcist) who has lived for 900 years, who meets Kiyoha Nanaka, a girl who has wandered in from the Reiwa era, and together they confront a chain of curses. The anime is directed by Teruo Sato and produced by Sunrise. It will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons.
