Talent Nozomi Tsuji (38), mother of three sons and two daughters, appeared on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) on April 22nd. She shared anecdotes about the birth of her daughter last August, 18 years after her first child.
Tsuji, who married actor Taiyo Sugiura at the age of 20, is currently the mother of five children ranging in age from 8 months to 18. "Being a mother is incredibly rewarding. Right now, I feel like we're all raising the children together as a family, with the help of my eldest child."
For her fifth child, she had 13 people present, including her children and parents. "I had an epidural, so I didn't feel any pain at all, and I was able to stay calm and talk with everyone during the birth. My eldest daughter was watching from below and cheered me on, saying, 'The baby's head is out now,' and 'Just a little more,'" she said.
"It must have been an incredible experience for the children too," Tetsuko said, to which Tsuji replied, "They were crying profusely, but they held my head with all their might, and I was able to give birth safely," expressing her gratitude.
She has five children and is sometimes called a "veteran mom." "Even though I try to raise them the same way, their personalities are completely different. Their favorite foods and individual characteristics are all different, so every time is a new experience. Because each one is different, I approach parenting as a beginner," she said.
