Asami Konno, a former member of Morning Musume and former TV Tokyo announcer, appeared on the 12th episode of the ABEMA variety show "Himitsu no Mamaen 2," which aired on April 19th.
In the segment "A Confession Session for Moms with Troubles" on the show, Konno recalled, "When my husband was in the off-season and I was feeling unwell, he would take over taking care of the kids at night and even made bread for the children for breakfast..."
Later, when her husband, professional baseball pitcher Toshihiro Sugiura, appeared on a local Hokkaido TV program, he reportedly answered questions about housework and childcare by saying, "I make breakfast while my wife is sleeping." Konno expressed her frustration, saying, "It makes it seem like I'm always sleeping and not making breakfast."
He continued, "Maybe he wanted to say, 'I'm doing childcare too,'" explaining that he was trying to convince himself and accept it.
