It has been announced that footage from guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka's world tour, which is currently visiting eight cities around the world, specifically the performance held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on April 13th, will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW in June.
Takana joined the Sadistic Mika Band as a guitarist in 1972 and made his solo debut in 1976. He gained popularity with his refreshing, poppy sound and outstanding guitar technique, including masterpieces such as "Ready To Fly" and "Blue Lagoon," which shine in the history of Japanese instrumental music, and he spearheaded the thriving fusion boom of the time. He has also collaborated with many international musicians, including the Latin rock band Santana and singer and drummer Sheila E.
This year, starting with a performance in London, England on March 31st, he has been continuing his world tour, "SUPER TAKANAKA WORLD LIVE 2026," visiting eight cities in three countries: New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles in the United States, and Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland in Australia. Almost all of the shows sold out in no time.
