A retrospective PV for the first season of the anime "The Elusive Samurai" has been released.

In anticipation of the rebroadcast of the first season of the TV anime " The Elusive Samurai ," based on the manga by Yusei Matsui , known for " Neuro: Supernatural Detective Neuro" and "Assassination Classroom ," on Fuji TV's anime block "Noitamina" every Friday at 11:30 p.m. starting April 17th, a PV looking back at the first season, titled "LOOK BACK PV," has been released on YouTube.

This video focuses on Hojo Tokiyuki and is packed with the charm of the first season, including the fall of the Kamakura shogunate, his encounter with Suwa Yorishige, and the formation and growth of the Futo Wakato (a group of young men who escaped from the capital).

"The Young The Elusive Samurai" is a "tale of escape" based on the historical facts of Hojo Tokiyuki, a young warrior skilled at running away, who wandered, hid, and sought revenge. In 1333, the Kamakura Shogunate was suddenly overthrown by a rebellion, and Hojo Tokiyuki, the young man who was supposed to become the successor to the shogunate, is lured by Suwa Yorishige, a Shinto priest from Shinano Province, and begins his journey to escape and become a hero. This new series by Matsui, his first in about five years since "Assassination Classroom," began in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) in January 2021. The final chapter was published in February, bringing the approximately five-year serialization to a close. The cumulative circulation of the comic books exceeds 5 million copies.

The first season of the TV anime aired from July to September 2024. The anime was directed by Yuta Yamazaki, who has worked on projects such as "Wonder Egg Priority," and produced by CloverWorks, known for works such as "Bocchi the Rock!". Newcomer voice actress Asaki Yukikawa played the main character, Tokiyuki Hojo. It was also noteworthy that this was Yukikawa's first time starring in a TV anime.

The second season will begin airing in July on "Noitamina," making it a two-season run when the first and second seasons are broadcast together.
