The second episode of the drama series "Wednesday, Please Let Me Be Embraced by My Husband" (TV Tokyo, Wednesdays at 12:30 AM), starring actresses Yuka Sugai and Noriko Iriyama, aired late at night on April 8th.
In episode 2, Yoko (Sugai) is approached by Rei (Iriyama), a betrayed wife, with the bizarre proposition that she continue her affair with her husband. Overwhelmed by Rei's quiet yet undeniable presence and the intense guilt she feels from the affair, Yoko accepts the request as a "punishment" and promises to visit the Kamisu family every Wednesday.
Towards the end of the episode, Yoko apologizes again, saying, "I'll pay any amount of compensation," but Rei firmly replies, "Do you think money can solve this?" She then adds with a sinister smile, "He and I used to meet every Wednesday. But Wednesdays are yours now. From now on, you'll come here every Wednesday and continue your relationship with him."
Then, a child appears before Yoko, and the scene ends with Yoko, startled, collapsing...
The drama is based on the manga of the same name by Kikuko Kikuya from U-NEXT's comic label "U-NEXT Comic," with actor Kazuki Sawamura serving as chief director. The story follows Yoko, who falls into self-loathing after unintentionally having an affair, and goes to meet Kamisu's wife, Rei, to apologize, only to be told by Rei, "Would you continue to have an affair with Fumiyuki every Wednesday...?" This is an infidelity love suspense drama depicting the strange love triangle between Yoko, who continues her "officially sanctioned affair," Rei, whose true feelings are unclear, and Kamisu, who cannot stop cheating.
