Actors Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka attended a Ai Mikami ( Asadora) of the first week of the NHK morning drama series "Kaze,Kaoru" (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.) held at Nasunogahara Harmony Hall (Otawara City, Tochigi Prefecture) on April 4th.
"Kaze,Kaoru" is based on two trained nurses, Chika Ozeki and Masa Suzuki, who graduated from the same nursing school. The story depicts how these two women struggle with how to interact with patients and doctors, clash with each other, grow as individuals, and eventually become the "ultimate buddy duo." Mikami plays Rin Ichinose, and Uesaka plays Naomi Oya.
779 people attended the event, and after a screening of a digest version of the first week, a talk show was held. Mikami said, "There were a lot of scenes in Nasu in the first week, but we filmed them six months ago, and I've been thinking, 'I want to come back to Nasu as soon as possible.' I'm so happy to finally be back and to meet everyone."
She continued, "I was nervous the first time I watched the broadcast alone, but now that I can see everyone's reactions, I feel a renewed sense of 'it's finally begun.' I was happy to feel the Tochigi breeze so much, and I was able to film while wondering if Ozeki Kazu was seeing the same scenery. I also learned a lot about the Tochigi dialect by interacting with the local people, and it has been useful. The broadcast will continue for about six months from now, and it is because of the land of Nasu that Rin's life will be blown by various winds from now on, so please watch over her."
Uesaka said, "After watching the first week, I thought the Nasu region was a really wonderful place, so I'm really happy to be able to come to Rin's hometown as Naomi. It's rare to have an opportunity like this to see it together with everyone at the venue, so I'm happy, and it's like a reward event that has given me energy. I really feel like ' Kaze,Kaoru' has finally begun."
"In the first week, during the scene where Rin says 'What a nice breeze,' I got goosebumps when I saw the perfect light shining on Rin during the actual filming. I hope you will continue to enjoy the lives of Rin and Naomi," he said.
Also on the same day, Ms. Mikami and Ms. Uesaka visited the area around Daiyuji Temple (Otawara City, Tochigi Prefecture), a filming location for the drama, and took commemorative photos.
Mikami commented, "I visited Daiyuji Temple once for filming and again later for a mini-program. This time, the cherry blossoms were beautiful, and it was nice to see a different side of the temple." Uesaka said, "This is my first time at Daiyuji Temple. I was excited from a viewer's perspective, thinking, 'This is the place where Rin and Kotaro talked!'"
