The eighth episode of the NHK morning drama series " Kaze,Kaoru " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.), starring Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka, aired on April 8th, and the sudden turn of events in Rin's (Asadora 's) married life became a hot topic among viewers.
Rin was diligently raising her daughter Tamaki (Ruka Miyajima), but her relationship with her husband Kamekichi (Takahiro Miura) remained strained. One evening, as Rin was writing a letter to her mother Mitsu (Miki Mizuno), a drunken Kamekichi returned home. Kamekichi said sarcastically, "You were probably just badmouthing me," and "But you, your parents, and Tamaki have no choice but to cling to a guy like that to survive. You're probably thinking you should have married someone better sooner, aren't you?"
When Rin remained silent, Kamekichi became furious, saying, "Can't you even lie and say it's not true!" When Kamekichi said, "I'll get Tamaki married off to a good family as soon as possible. Women don't need education," Rin bowed her head and said, "Please let Tamaki go to a girls' school." However, Kamekichi spat out, "That's useless. She's going to be married off anyway," and tried to wake the sleeping Tamaki.
When Rin tried to stop him, Kamekichi became enraged and started to rampage. "You think you can get away with this?!" Kamekichi yelled, throwing things, and the flames from the fallen lantern spread to the shoji screen, quickly engulfing the area in flames. "Mom!" Kamekichi cried out, leaving Rin and Tama behind, and fled with his mother, Sada (played by Negishi Kie). After a while, Rin was stunned, then she picked up Tama and ran away.
Rin returned to her family home, the Ichinose house. She prostrated herself before Mitsu and begged, "I'm so sorry, Mother! I'll quit. I'm quitting being a wife!" Mitsu instructed Rin to "run away to Tokyo" and handed her a piece of paper with the address of her uncle Nobukatsu (played by Yoichiro Saito), who lives in Tokyo, saying, "You mustn't prolong this losing battle."
On social media, comments expressing sympathy poured in, such as "The plot is unfolding at lightning speed," "It's all happening at a breakneck pace," "Two consecutive quick divorces?", "Rin's life is on hard mode," "I bet the fire will be blamed on Rin too," and "I hope she cuts ties with that drunken jerk of a husband soon."
