Actress Yuki Amami made a live appearance on NHK's morning information program "Asaichi" (NHK General, Monday-Friday, 8:15 AM) on April 3rd. She revealed behind-the-scenes stories about the new musical written and directed by Koki Mitani, as well as some of her past failures.
It was revealed that Amami will be playing six or seven different roles in Mitani's new stage production "8:15 from Shinjuku," in which she also stars alongside Shingo Katori, and that most of them are male roles. Mitani sent a video message expressing his gratitude, saying that Amami is willing to take on any role, even if it's just a brief appearance as an old man or a truck driver, and that she's willing to go through any hardship to do it, saying, "If it's interesting, I'll do it." He also revealed that Amami was trying on a crew-cut wig yesterday.
The play will include a dance scene with Katori, and Mitani promoted it by saying, "It's a breathtaking scene with two big stars performing together," while Amami said, "I never thought the day would come when I'd get to dance with Katori."
He also revealed an anecdote about a time when Amami appeared in a play written and directed by Mitani, and she made a mistake with her timing when coming on stage, saying "Oops!" which was clearly heard by the audience.
