Mayu Murata's popular manga "Honey Lemon Soda," which has also been adapted into a live-action film and a TV anime, will conclude its run in the May issue of the magazine "Ribon" (Shueisha), released on April 3rd, bringing its approximately 11-year serialization to a close. The cover and title page of the issue have been released ahead of its release. The final volume, volume 31, will be released on May 25th.
"Honey Lemon Soda" began serialization in "Ribon" in December 2015. It is a coming-of-age love story depicting the growth of Uka Ishimori, who enrolls in a high school with a liberal atmosphere in order to change herself, and meets Kai Miura, a popular classmate with lemon-colored hair. The manga has sold over 16 million copies in total. A live-action film adaptation was released in July 2021, which also generated a lot of buzz. It was also adapted into a TV anime series, which aired from January to March 2025.
The magazine's sixth issue, released on May 2nd, and its July issue, released on June 3rd, will both include a special supplement featuring "Honey Lemon Soda." The June issue will include the "Honey Lemon Soda Illustration Book: Jewel Box," a 32-page, full-color booklet condensing 10 years of brilliance.
