The final episode of the TBS Sunday drama "Reboot," starring Ryohei Suzuki, aired on March 29th (Sundays at 9 PM), and a line from the mysterious third episode (aired on February 1st) became a hot topic on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers.
In the final episode, Hayase (Suzuki) and Natsumi (Toda Erika) find themselves in a desperate situation, but with the help of Fuyuhashi (Nagase Ren), they manage to escape their predicament. Furthermore, with the help of Makita (Ito Hideaki), who was thought to have betrayed them, they are able to capture Goroku (Kitamura Yukiya) and Yaichi (Ichikawa Danjuro).
However, in addition to his son Takumi (Hiroshi Yazaki) and mother Yoshiko (Mieko Harada), Natsumi is also taken hostage at home. Furthermore, Teramoto (Daisuke Nakagawa), who is a spy within the police force, tries to set the house on fire, but Hayase arrives just in the nick of time, bringing the story to a happy ending.
In episode 3, there is a scene in which Adachi (played by Aju Makita), a subordinate of Gido, reports, "We've received a tip that there's a man who looks exactly like Riku Hayase working and living at a transportation company in Kisarazu City. We used to get a lot of these when we first started the public investigation, but it's been a while since we've seen this." Before the final episode aired, there were comments such as, "Isn't that some kind of foreshadowing?" and "I've been wondering about that ever since."
However, even in the final episode, there was no mention of "a man who looks exactly like Riku Hayase working at a transportation company in Kisarazu City," leading to comments on social media such as "He was just a look-alike," "I guess it was all a red herring after all," "It's funny that he was just a look-alike," and "Is a simple look-alike the final answer???"
