A new project called "Seasonal Visuals" for the TV anime "SAKAMOTO DAYS," based on the popular manga by Yuto Suzuki serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), started on April 1st. Each month, a newly drawn visual with a seasonal theme and a new mini audio drama will be released. The project focuses on the characters' daily lives, depicting aspects of them not seen in the main story. The first installment, themed around April Fool's Day, shows Sakamoto disguised as his wife, Aoi, thanks to the disguise skills of the master of disguise, Nagumo.
The visual depicts Sakamoto taking the JCC transfer exam in order to obtain the X data, but being disqualified because a bounty has been placed on his head. As a result, Nagumo suggests that Sakamoto disguise himself not as a student, but as his wife, Aoi, and infiltrate the school as a student teacher. The new mini audio drama features a humorous conversation between Nagumo and Sakamoto that was not shown in the final episode of the first season of the TV anime. In honor of April Fool's Day, there will also be a change to the official X account (@SAKAMOTODAYS_PR) in conjunction with the newly drawn visual.
The story follows Taro Sakamoto, a former legendary hitman who runs a shop after retirement, as he fights against pursuing assassins alongside his companions to protect the peaceful daily life he shares with his beloved family. The series has gained popularity for its spectacular battle scenes featuring unique characters.
The first season of the TV anime aired from January to March 2025 (first cour), and the second cour aired from July to September of the same year. A second season has been confirmed.
The live-action film starring Ren Meguro of the popular group "Snow Man" is also generating buzz as it will be released on April 29th.
