Freelance announcer Christel Takigawa appeared on the talk variety show "Otto ga neta ato ni" (TV Asahi) 1-hour special, which aired on March 29th, and spoke about childcare.
Takigawa's husband is Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi. The couple had a secret relationship for about a year before their surprise marriage in 2019. She is currently a mother of two. The program featured her parenting style, including how she cautions her 6-year-old son to cut back on snacks.
When MC Natsuko Yokozawa expressed surprise, saying, "I had the impression that you had several babysitters," Takigawa chuckled, "People say that based on the impression that I rely on babysitters and don't do anything." She continued, "Because of my husband's job, it's difficult to have people come into our house. It's not that I don't care, I have to care," explaining that hiring babysitters is difficult due to concerns about eavesdropping and surreptitious filming.
To this, MC Mikki Fujimoto said, "It must be tough having to be considerate of the babysitter, too. Like, 'I have to put this away because they can't see it,'" to which she nodded in agreement.
