Actress Momoko Fukuchi's NHK nighttime drama "Radio Star" (NHK General, Monday-Thursday 10:45 PM) will begin airing on March 30th. Set in Noto, it will be a "nonstop entertainment drama" about an ordinary citizen who becomes a star.
The story follows the protagonist, Kanade Hiiragi (played by Fukuchi), who is caught in an earthquake while traveling to her boyfriend's hometown, Noto. At the evacuation center, she is warmly cared for by Kosuke Matsumoto (played by Masahiro Kohmoto). Wanting to repay his kindness, Kanade visits Noto again. There, Matsumoto asks her to become a radio personality for a disaster relief FM station...
The drama features appearances by Kiyohiko Shibukawa, Shoma Kai, Kaito Oyagi, Shunsuke Kazama, Tsutomu Tamura, Takako Tokiwa, and Manami Ono from the idol group "Hinatazaka46". The theme song is "Fune Ippai no Sachi o" (A Boat Full of Happiness), written and composed by Yumi Matsutoya and sung by MISIA.
