Akari Takaishi , who plays Lafkada Ushimizu, the husband of the heroine Toki (Takaishi), in the Tommy Bastow Asadora drama series "Bakebake " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8am and other times), which stars Takaishi Akari, visited the grave of Yakumo Koizumi, the model for Heaven, at Zoshigaya Cemetery in Tokyo.
Basto commented, "Visiting Yakumo Koizumi's grave again was an overwhelming experience. I was overwhelmed with emotion and deeply moved...and at the same time, I felt grateful for the opportunity to play the role of Ushimizu Hearn (Lefkada Heaven)."
"When I stood before the grave, I truly felt the 'power that transcends time' that art possesses. Yakumo Koizumi came to Japan more than 100 years ago, and he is still remembered and celebrated by people today. When I think about that, I feel both awe and gratitude that I was able to become a part of his story. I believe that the story of Yakumo Koizumi and Setsu will continue to be told for hundreds of years to come," he reflected.
"Bakebake" is based on the lives of Setsu Koizumi, the daughter of a fallen samurai family in Matsue, and her husband, Lafcadio Hearn). It depicts the story of a heroine who loves ghost stories and lives an ordinary life with her foreign husband. Currently, the 25th week, "It's scary, but it's wonderful," is airing, and the final episode will air on March 27th.
