NHK's documentary program "Professional Work Style" will feature Takeichi Kikuchi (64), a legendary tuna fisherman known as "Mr. Perfect," in its March 16th broadcast at 7:57 PM (NHK General).
Whenever Mr. Kikuchi goes out fishing, he never comes up empty-handed. He has revolutionized tuna fishing with the artificial lures and tuna fishing machines he developed himself.
This winter saw a record-breaking poor catch. Aiming for the "number one tuna," which will fetch the highest price at the first auction of the year held at Toyosu Market in January, Kikuchi heads out into the rough Tsugaru Strait. But at the last moment, his body cries out in protest. Will he be able to land a big catch? This is the story of a man who never stops, and his winter adventures.
