It was announced on March 15th that TBS announcer Kaira Urano will be hosting the daytime information program "Shinya Ueda's Sunday Q" (Sundays, 11:35 AM - 12:54 PM), which will start on April 5th on the same station. The announcement was made as a surprise on "Sunday Japon" (Sundays, 9:54 AM), which aired on the same day.
Announcer Urano interviewed Shinya Ueda as a reporter for "Sunday Japon." When they broke open a celebratory ball for the new program, it read, "Congratulations to Announcer Urano on being chosen to host 'Shinya Ueda's Sunday Q'!!"
Seeing announcer Urano speechless with surprise, Ueda asked, "How do you feel?" When Ueda then asked, "Are you going to do it?", announcer Urano replied emphatically, "I'll do it! I'll do it!"
Announcer Urano will soon be in her third year at the company. She currently hosts "Ariyoshi Japon II Jirojiro Ariyoshi" (Saturdays at 12:58 AM), is a reporter for "Sunday Japon," and is the MC for the soccer program "KICK OFF! J" (Sundays at 12:58 AM). This will be her first time primarily hosting a live information program.
This weekly live information program delivers domestic and international news that may seem unrelated to oneself, along with the message, "You too are a participant in the news!" Its characteristic feature is the live feel, where experts answer the questions of the panelists on the spot. Experts provide thorough explanations in response to the relatable "Q" of the panelists, who come from diverse backgrounds, such as parents and current university students.
Announcer Urano commented, "I've only just heard about what kind of program it is, so it's difficult to think about what kind of program I want it to become in the future... I'm not the type to be very knowledgeable about current events, so I think that means I can explain things in a way that's easy for anyone to understand. My boss told me, 'If you're in trouble, ask Ueda for help!', so I'll rely on him to keep the show going! I've admired Ueda since I was little, and I never thought I'd be able to work with him, so I'm very happy. Since it's Ueda's program, I'm sure it will be interesting. Please watch it! I'll do my best!"
