Talent Mikki Fujimoto appeared in the second episode of the marriage decision reality show "Sayonara Propose via Australia," which aired on ABEMA at 9 PM on March 12th.
This reality show follows couples who are hesitant to commit to marriage as they embark on a seven-day overseas trip, with the final day requiring them to decide whether to marry or break up. In episode 2, the three couples meet for the first time and share breakfast together. They discuss their reasons for participating in the trip and the types of arguments they usually have.
Yuuki, a 30-year-old who can't bring himself to get married, and Luna, a 29-year-old who wants to get married by the time she's 30, are a couple who clash over the timing of marriage. When Luna loses patience and asks, "When are you going to get married?", Yuuki replies, "Ideally, I'd like to get married and have a family, including children, once I'm in a position to support a family, but the question is, when will that be?" and the discussion goes nowhere.
Seeing this, Fujimoto said, "Men often say, 'I want to get married once I'm able to support someone,' both financially and emotionally. I hate people who say that." "They say things like, 'I need to earn up to a certain amount,' and I think, 'When is that?' I wonder how many years it will take to reach that point, and there are plenty of people out there who get married with an average annual income."
Niiyama of the comedy duo "Sayaka" said, "People probably think too much that it will be harder to increase your income once you have children. I don't think that's true, rather, having children makes you want to work harder." Fujimoto added, "On the contrary, there are many people who think, 'I have to work harder.'"
