The seventh episode of the popular TBS Sunday Theatre "Reboot" (Sunday 9:00 PM) starring Ryohei Suzuki was broadcast on March 8th. A character who was supposed to have been eliminated by Goroku (Yukiya Kitamura) and his friends appeared, causing a stir on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers
Hayase (Suzuki), disguised as Gido (Suzuki), hears from Makita (Ito Hideaki) that a raid is being conducted at the Clearance Law Firm, and immediately calls Machi (Ueno Suzuka) at the firm.
Machi and the others try to escape quickly, but their friend Rikka (Akari Akase) slips on the emergency stairs and loses her life. Machi is devastated when Hayase visits her at the detention center and tells her of Rikka's death.
However, a man appears to retrieve Machi from behind the bars, claiming, "A hero of justice has come to rescue you." It is Kaieda (Yoshi Sakamoto), a lawyer who was supposed to have been eliminated after being framed by Hayase and Ichika (Yoshi Sakou) for embezzling 1 billion yen.
When Hayase said, "You're lucky to be alive," Kaieda replied, "This is what happened because you set me up," showing his finger wrapped in bandages. He recalled that he was about to be killed, but narrowly escaped death because "Gido was the culprit." He also added sarcastically, "After finally getting out of the hospital, it seems that the 'New Gido' is in full swing."
On social media, there was a lot of excitement, with comments such as "I was surprised when Dr. Kaieda showed up," "I burst out laughing when I found out that Dr. Kaieda was alive," "I'm so happy that Dr. Kaieda, my top pick for a reboot, is still alive," "I wondered if someone had rebooted Kaieda," "Has Kaieda been rebooted?" and "About Ichika going to the clinic, was it for maintenance on herself or to reboot someone else? If it was Kaieda I'd laugh lol."
