Yui Narumi plays the heroine Onozaki Noa in NHK's "Drama 10: The Uncertain Court of Themis" (General TV, Tuesdays at 10pm), starring Matsuyama Kenichi. The final episode of the drama aired on March 10th. "Onozaki Noa is very similar to me, and I think it was a role that affirmed me, including the parts of myself that I dislike," Narumi said, reflecting on the role and sharing her thoughts.
"The Uncertain Courtroom of Themis" is based on a unique legal mystery by Sho Naoshima. It is a courtroom drama about a judge with a developmental disorder who struggles with his own unique characteristics while taking on complex cases. The screenplay is written by Hideya Hamada, who has also written the Fuji TV series "Ichikei no Karasu" and the "Absolute Zero" series.
In the final episode, Yuki (Ogi Shigemitsu) is trying to tell something to psychiatrist Yamaji (Wakui Emi). Learning this, Ando (Matsuyama) begins to investigate the connection to the Maebashi family murder case using clues left behind by Yuki. Worried about Ando's mental state, Onozaki (Yui Narumi) accompanies him in the investigation. As the Maebashi District Court First Branch, the defense team, and the prosecution approach the truth from their respective perspectives, the existence of the real culprit emerges, and the dots gradually begin to connect.
And finally, the day arrives when the decision on the request for retrial will be made...
Narumi said, "During filming, I received a message from the original author, Naoshima Sho, saying, 'Please support Ando,' and I was planning to use those words as my guideline...but instead, Matsuyama gave me a lot of support, and so did all the staff."
As filming came to a close, she realized, "More than anything, I think it's a great asset to have met a team that carefully creates a work." She also revealed, "I'll continue to work hard so that I can meet everyone again. Thank you so much! I'll miss you! I love you!"
