The main PV for the stop-motion animation "Candy Caries," a collaboration between WIT STUDIO and director Tomoki Misato, known for the anime "Pui Pui Molcar," has been released on YouTube. The video begins with a giant toothbrush approaching as Caries, a tooth cavity living in the mouth of a young girl named Ame, awakens. The video then depicts a comical moment in which Caries goes berserk, yelling, "Hey, Mom! Are you trying to kill my daughter!?", while Ame shows a cute, troubled expression. The PV also features the theme song "Telepathy" by IS:SUE, a girl group formed from the audition program "PRODUCE 101 JAPAN THE GIRLS."
To commemorate the broadcast of the TV anime, a collaborative event with the hot spring facility "Natural Hot Spring Yu-Neru" (Narashino City, Chiba Prefecture) will be held from April 25th to June 28th. Various events will be held, including collaborative loyly, large screen broadcasts in the observation bath, and the sale of limited edition merchandise.
The series is set in a "squishy" world made of materials like plastic board and acrylic, and depicts the hectic daily life of Ame, a girl who loves sweets, and Caries, a free-spirited tooth decay creature who lives in Ame's mouth. Released on YouTube in March 2021, it has gained popularity, with around 1.75 million views to date. The TV anime will begin airing on April 15th as part of TBS's information variety show "Night Branch" (Wednesdays at 11:56 PM).
