It has been announced that a special memorial program for Shinya, the drummer of the rock band LUNA SEA, who passed away on February 17th at the age of 56, will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW on March 15th.
Shinya has been active as the drummer for LUNA SEA since 1989. In 2020, he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, and in 2025, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and he continued to fight the illness, undergoing seven surgeries.
Starting at 8:15 AM on March 15th, the "LUNA SEA Music Video Collection," a collection of music videos tracing the history of LUNA SEA, will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Live and WOWOW On Demand. From 10:15 PM, the program will broadcast and stream "Shinya DSS [Drum Solo Selection]," a collection of carefully selected drum solo performances by Shinya himself from past LUNA SEA live shows (first broadcast in May 2021).
