It has been revealed that actress Reika Horikoshi, the eldest daughter of kabuki actor Danjuro Ichikawa, will be playing her first leading role in an anime film, the theatrical anime "ARCO." She will co-star with Soya Kurokawa, who will play Arco, a boy from the distant future, and Horikoshi, who will play Iris, a girl living in the world of 2075.
This sci-fi adventure fantasy follows the story of Arco, a 10-year-old boy who falls from the sky via a rainbow across time, and Iris, a girl living in a world devastated by climate change. Their encounter marks the beginning of an adventure that will change the world. Natalie Portman serves as executive producer, and this is the feature-length animation debut of Hugo Bienvenue, who is in charge of directing.
The other voice cast members besides Kurokawa and Horikoshi have also been announced. The three bob-haired brothers who are chasing Arco will be played by Ryota Yamazato as Dougie, Maeno Tomoaki as Stewie, Fukushi Ochiai Fukushi as Yuki Kaji, Kaji Yuki as Mickey, the babysitting robot who lives in Iris's house, Yurie Igoma as Clifford, and Hinata Minami as Arco's mother.
