The final episode (episode 8) of the drama series "Detective, Your Backpack is Open," starring Ryuhei Matsuda, aired on February 27th, and featured a surprise appearance by a "big-name actor."
Matsuda himself was involved in the planning of the drama, and it is a heartwarming mystery that was born from a collaboration with screenwriter and director Shuichi Okita. Set in the small rural town of Nishigaya Onsen, the story follows detective and inventor Yosuke Ichinose (played by Matsuda) as he solves a succession of strange requests in a relaxed manner, a heartwarming story that will make you laugh and cry.
The final episode, with its unique worldview, unfolded in an unpredictable way right to the very end. The owner of the cafe where Yosuke takes shelter from the rain was played by Joe Odagiri. Wearing sexy shorts, which seemed out of place in the chic cafe, she engaged in relaxed conversation with Yosuke.

Matsuda and Odagiri co-starred in the film "The Great Passage" (2013). Matsuda made a surprise appearance in season 2 (2022) of the drama "Oliver the Dog, (Goshb!!) This Guy," which Odagiri wrote and directed. According to TV Asahi, the unique fashion in the drama was a particular style that Odagiri personally suggested during costume fittings.
