It has been announced that Sakura Shinfuku will be appearing as a voice actress in the TV anime " The Ramparts of Ice, " which is based on the webtoon by Kocha Agasawa , which was serialized on the digital manga service "LINE Manga." Shinpuku will play Tsukiko Shimoshima, a classmate of the solitary girl Koyuki Koyuki and a member of the art club.
Shinpuku says of the work's appeal, "When I first read it, I was surprised by how realistic the psychological portrayal of each character was. Even though I had a completely different high school life to Koyuki and the others, there were a series of scenes where I thought, 'I know this feeling...!!' It was a very strange feeling while reading. It's a work that gives shape to the nameless emotions that we vaguely feel every day, and I think it makes you feel refreshed, like ice is melting."
Regarding Tsukiko, she said, "Tsukiko's distinctive feature is her small animal-like, hectic nature. I did my best to gather up all the small animal within me and play the role. On the other hand, when her friend is troubled, she gives calm advice that rivals that of an adult! I was moved by Tsukiko's unfathomable charm, and I approached the dubbing with the intention of showing a wide range of expressions."
The artists performing the theme songs were also announced, with the band Novelbright performing the opening theme (OP) "Transparent" and the band Polkadot Stingray performing the ending theme (ED) "Gyakusama."
Novelbright's vocalist, Takenaka Yudai, said about the song "Transparent," "The theme is 'capturing youth from a bird's eye view,' and we focused on the frustration of the present moment, anxiety about the future, the right distance from others, love, hope for tomorrow, and so on. The Ramparts of Ice!?, was being made into an anime, I've been feeling excited. I'm so happy. The series has been viewed over 160 million times on LINE Manga, and the comics have sold over 2 million copies. It was serialized from January 2020 to April 2022. Koyuki Koyuki is not good at interacting with people, and has built a wall between herself and others. In high school, she spends her time alone, with only her childhood friend, Miki Azumi, to connect with. However, she meets Minato Amemiya, who for some reason begins to close the gap between them, and Yota Hino, a laid-back and kind basketball club member.
The anime will be directed by Mankyu and produced by Studio KAI. Anna Nagase will play Koyuki Koyuki, Fuka Izumi will play Miki Azumi, Shoya Chiba will play Minato Amemiya, and Keiji Inomata will play Yota Hino. It will be broadcast nationwide on 28 TBS affiliates every Thursday at 11:56am starting from April 2nd.
