The animated feature film "Uma Musume Pretty Derby: The Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Beginning of a New Era" (directed by Ken Yamamoto), based on the popular game and anime series "Uma Musume Pretty Derby," will be released in over 600 theaters across North America on February 27th. GENDA, the company that Gaga, the distributor in North America, belongs to, is using its North American base to promote the film in conjunction with the release. Gaga will continue to further strengthen Gaga America, based in Los Angeles, and work to expand its distribution business in North America, including anime, live-action Japanese films, and music content.
The film is the first animated feature film for "Uma Musume Pretty Derby" and was released in Japan in May 2024. The protagonist, Jungle Pocket, is inspired by Fujikiseki's running in the Twinkle series, where Uma Musume races are fiercely contested. He takes on rivals of his generation in the prestigious Triple Crown race, a once-in-a-lifetime event.
