On February 24th, Michieda Shunsuke of the popular group "Naniwa Danshi" attended the preview screening of his starring film "The Last Song You Left" (directed by Miki Takahiro, scheduled for release on March 20th) in Tokyo, along with his heroine, Ikumi Airi. This is Michieda's first lead role in a film, but Ikumi revealed that she "didn't know she was the lead until halfway through," which got the audience excited.
The film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Misaki Ichijo (KADOKAWA). It is a love story depicting the 10-year romance between the protagonist, Haruto Mizushima (played by Michieda), whose secret hobby is writing poetry, and Ayane Tohsaka (played by Ikumi), who has developmental dyslexia, making it difficult for her to read and write, but who has a talent for singing and composing music.
At the event, Michieda and Ikumi shared their impressions of each other, revealing that they share a common trait of being shy. Ikumi then revealed, "He seems perfect, but he has many flaws. That really lightened the mood on set! I don't know if I should say this, but I didn't know I was the lead until halfway through the filming. I thought, 'There really are people like this?' (laughs)."
Michieda was very flustered, saying, "You shouldn't say that (laughs)!", but then explained with a wry smile, "It's a story about two people, so I thought it was a double lead role." Ikumi said, "And what's more, towards the end of filming, he said, 'I'm the lead!' and I thought he was such a humble leader," to which Michieda retorted, "That's not humble at all!", drawing laughter. Director Miki followed up by saying, "As the lead, he's not the type to be selfish, and that shows Michieda's good points."
Kameda Seiji, who participated as a music producer, also appeared at the preview screening.
