On February 24th, a letter written by Matsuo Basho containing a haiku will be featured as a treasure on the variety show "Kaiun! Nandemo Kanteidan" (TV Tokyo, Tuesdays 8:54pm), hosted by entertainer Imada Koji, freelance announcer Fukuzawa Akira, and former Sakurazaka46 member Sugai Yuuka.
The client is a master of the samurai tea ceremony, which was founded by the Sengoku period warlord Furuta Oribe, and after an acquaintance suggested it be used as a tea hanging scroll, he purchased it for the exceptionally low price of 150,000 yen. It also apparently has a haiku poem written on it, and if it is genuine, he hopes it will be a major discovery. What will the result be?
The trailer describes it as "a major discovery?" and "a phantom discovery that has never been announced to the world."
