The fifth episode of the drama series "Punch-Drunk Woman: Only XX Days Left to Escape," starring actress Shinohara Ryoko, aired on February 22nd, and it was revealed that the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 3.4% for households and 1.9% for individuals. This was the first broadcast of the drama in three weeks.
The drama is an original prison escape suspense story inspired by a true story from overseas in which a female prison guard helped a male inmate escape and escaped with him. Veteran female prison guard Kozue Fuyuki (played by Shinohara) has always lived a disciplined and honest life, but her life is turned upside down when she meets Reiji Kusaka (played by Jesse), a pretrial detainee charged with robbery and murder who is closely related to Kozue's secret.
Episode 5 was broadcast under the title "Stop the escape plan! Lives are in danger..."
Kozue Fuyuki (played by Shinohara), a prison guard at Hikawa Detention Center, falls into a trap set by Hidehiko Ebihara (played by Yuta Koseki), a cult insider plotting an escape, and is assaulted by a group of men. However, she is saved by Reiji Kusaka (played by Jesse), a suspect in the murder of his father, and escapes from the crisis. However, Reiji is forced to make the ultimate choice: escape from prison or save Kozue... and so the story unfolds.
