Singer Miki Imai will appear on the February 22nd broadcast of "Sunday First Time I Heard It" (MBS/TBS, Sunday 10pm). She will talk about her memories of living abroad, the struggles and anguish of being a mother, and her unexpected encounter with her hit song "PRIDE," which has sold 1.6 million copies.
First, he talks about the behind-the-scenes stories of the production of his many hit songs and albums. He recalls how when he first heard "PRIDE," written by guitarist and producer Tomoyasu Hotei, he was shocked, saying, "When I heard the lyrics, I thought, 'What is this?'" and "It brought out all kinds of emotions..."
After a period of extreme busyness, she moved to London in 2012. She recalls how the couple burst into tears when their daughter, who was 10 years old at the time, started attending a local school. "Even now, it hurts to remember," she says, candidly discussing the struggles of motherhood that lay behind the life they had always dreamed of in London.
Imai was born in 1963 to parents who loved music. He shares his childhood memories of a "liberal household" and the important teachings he received from his mother that still inform his thinking today.
