The 100th episode of the NHK morning drama "Bakeke" (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others), starring Takaishi Akari, was broadcast on February 20th, and the "grill incident" that occurred in the Matsuno household was successfully resolved, with viewers reacting to the unexpected punchline.
In the 100th episode, neither the grill nor the culprit has been found. Unable to bear the mutual suspicions of the Matsuno household, Kuma (Toru Natsume), who feels that she is suspected of being the culprit, announces that she will quit her job as a maid.
Despite desperate attempts by Toki (Takaishi) and Heaven (Tommy Bastow) to calm him down, the bear tries to run out of the house. Meanwhile, Joe's (Sugita Rairin) pocket watch goes missing. Joe reveals that it was a precious watch given to him by his brother, Yuichi (Yoshizawa Ryo), and chokes out, "I hate to say this, but...someone...again..."
Takeru says that Kuma has an alibi for the time of the incident and says, "She's not a bear, so there's no need for her to quit her job as a maid." He then tells Kuma, "No one suspects you," and suspicion falls on Tsukasasuke (Takashi Okabe), Fumi (Chizuru Ikewaki), and Masaki (Yukito Hidaka).
Eventually, Takeru confesses to Masaki that the pocket watch was not stolen. He said he lied to protect Kuma. Masaki also regrets having made a mess of things by acting like a detective, and seems to have come up with a brilliant idea when he tells them that his wallet is missing. Each member of the family has an alibi, making it impossible for them to commit the crime. Kuma was also asleep, so the search for the culprit becomes extremely complicated. Eventually, Takeru reports that he has found the pocket watch, and Masaki takes his wallet out of his pocket and apologizes, saying, "I'm sorry. My wallet was there too!"
As Toki and the others laugh together in relief, Heaven notices Takeru and Masaki's lies and tells them in English, "I hate lies, but you two told good lies," before praising them, "That's wonderful! That's wonderful!" Heaven immediately returns to her desk and mutters, "Interesting... Takeru's lies... Masaki's lies... Kumamoto has nothing to do with it... That's a lie! It has the Japanese heart," and begins writing.
The next morning, a peaceful breakfast returns to the Matsuno household. Concerning the whereabouts of the grill, Snake and Frog (Asagaya Sisters) say, "It's a gap," "It must have slipped off without anyone noticing," "Another gap?", and "Things often fall into gaps in this house." This coincides with the events in episode 78 (broadcast on January 21st) when Fumi drops her chopsticks into a gap in the kitchen.
Comments on social media included, "Another gap? That was too funny. The punchline was brilliant," "Wow, brilliant!", "Amazing how they picked up loose ends just when we'd forgotten about them!!," "What, even the gap in Matsue was a foreshadowing?!", "So it was the gap's doing after all...," "I really didn't think the gap incident would be a hint for this episode lol," and "Another gap lol, that was a great Friday recap."
