The seventh episode of NHK's "Drama 10 'Convenience Store Brothers: Tenderness Mojiko Kogane Village Branch'" (NHK General, Tuesdays at 10pm), starring Kento Nakajima, aired on June Getsuku and featured Tomomi Nakai, who gained attention for her role in the network's Asadora drama series "Kaze,Kaoru."
"Convenience Store Brothers" is based on the novel of the same name by Sonoko Machida. It is a heartwarming and mysterious human comedy set in a convenience store in Mojiko, Kitakyushu City. Nakajima plays two roles: the protagonist, the "pheromone store manager" Mitsuhiko Shiwa, and his older brother, the "wild, anything-goes guy" Nihiko Shiwa.
The subtitle for the seventh episode is "Reflections on Love with Grandma, Served with Peach Tart."
Having been laid off and unable to pay her mortgage, Nagata Mitsue (played by Kimiko Yo) was begged by her son and daughter-in-law to sell her familiar home in Saga and move to Moji, but she was having trouble adjusting to her new life. One day, she fell ill in Mojiko, but was coincidentally helped by Shiwa, which led her to become a member of Shiwa's support group and begin her fan activities...
Nakai was born on January 6, 2000, making her 26 years old. "Kaze,Kaoru" was her first Asadora, in which she played Yuki Shinonome, the daughter of a viscount who admired Florence Nightingale and entered a nursing school. Yuki left the school after the death of a patient with whom she had become close. Her last appearance was in episode 47 (aired on June 2).
In this episode, Nakai played Shino, Mitsue's granddaughter and a high school girl who has just been dumped by her boyfriend, and fans of the Asadora have been reacting to her performance one after another.
Comments included: "I thought I'd seen this granddaughter somewhere before, she was in the Asadora, wasn't she?", "Yuki-chan as a modern high school student?", "It's the girl from the Asadora! The one who quit her nursing apprenticeship last week! Wow, she looks completely different," as well as comments like, "Yuki-chan left the Asadora early for this drama. (Not true)", "Yuki-chan from the Asadora has become a high school girl right after quitting her nursing apprenticeship", "I'm happy to see Tomomi Nakai again since she didn't have a role in the Asadora!", and "This actress has the face of a Asadora heroine, I thought so even when she played Yuki-san."
