It has been revealed that "Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers," a new anime that is a direct sequel to the "Yoroi Shinden Samurai Troopers" TV anime series which aired from April 1988 to March 1989, will be collaborating with "Osomatsu san," an anime based on Fujio Akatsuka's manga "Mr. Osomatsu." The collaboration was made possible because both works are directed by Yoichi Fujita.
Gai, Kaito Uesugi, Musashi Hojo, Yamato Hojo, Shion Ishida, and Ryusei Oda from "Samurai Troopers: Armored Legend" have transformed into the six brothers from "Mr. Osomatsu": Osomatsu, Karamatsu, Ichimatsu, Jyushimatsu, Choromatsu, and Todomatsu. A collaborative visual featuring them armed in briefs has been released.
Director Fujita commented, "When I heard about this, I think I had an indescribable expression on my face. I would appreciate it if you could watch over it with a warm and understanding eye."
The second season of "Armor Legend Samurai Troopers" will begin airing on TOKYO MX and other channels from July 7th. In anticipation of the broadcast, director Fujita said, "This time too, a series of intense and bizarre events will befall the six boys one after another. As they face increasingly formidable difficulties and enemies, their feelings will change, and in the final episode, what will the boys gain and lose, and where will they end up? Please watch and see."
"Yoroiden Samurai Troopers" is the first new anime in approximately 35 years since the OVA "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers MESSAGE" released in 1991, and it's also generating buzz because it's the first TV anime series to air in about 37 years. The story is completely original and set in present-day Shinjuku. Fujita, known for "Gintama" and "Mr. Osomatsu," is directing, while Shogo Muto, known for "Kamen Rider Build," "Crows Zero," and "Thermae Romae," is in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. It's a two-part series, with the first part airing from January to March.
