Members of the band Godiego will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will air at 1:00 p.m. on February 17th.
Now celebrating their 50th anniversary, the band's average age is now 72. They look back on their activities to date while watching footage from their first appearance on the show 46 years ago. Originally, Mickey Yoshino and Takekawa Yukihide were the ones who discussed forming the band, and then other members joined one after another. They also reveal the secrets behind their hit songs such as "Gandhara," "Galaxy Express 999," and "Beautiful Name."
Back then, just being overseas was a big challenge, but in 1980 they performed in Nepal, drawing 60,000 people. Last year they went on a nationwide tour, concluding with a performance in Okinawa. They spent their time in Okinawa in a variety of ways, and apparently enjoyed the local cuisine. Band activities require physical strength, and each member maintains it through exercise and other activities.
