"Nanani Chika ABEMA" (ABEMA, Sunday 8pm) is a variety show hosted by Goro Inagaki, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi and Shingo Katori. On February 15th, the segment was titled "Japan's most handsome guys and beautiful girls gather together! A behind-the-scenes look at the hottest teens and their parents will also be making an appearance! Special" and featured popular junior and senior high school students appearing in the studio with their parents.
Hono, a first-year junior high school student, won the grand prize out of a total of approximately 35,000 applicants at the "JC Miss Contest 2025," which determines the "cutest junior high school girl in Japan." Two weeks after winning the award, she was featured on a popular news program in her hometown of Kagoshima Prefecture, and she reported with a smile, "My mom and dad are so happy!"
Her mother, Chieri, commented on the reaction to her daughter's grand prize win, saying, "When I went shopping, I bumped into someone who was spreading the rumor that 'I heard the top junior high school girl in Japan is in Kagoshima.'" Her father, Takahiro, also expressed his joy, saying, "We are having the best time."
On the other hand, there was also a moment when she spoke of the heartbreaking efforts she made to win the Grand Prix. Takahiro cooperated fully with Hono, filming and editing the SNS posts. "I change costumes every time I post, so costume costs have been over 300,000 yen in the last three months..." she confessed, revealing her real financial situation.
